Pest control for schools & nurseries

School and nursery pest control in the UAE must follow strict KHDA and ADEK guidelines: no spray treatments during school hours, no residue in play areas, and full disclosure of every active ingredient used. PestMan provides weekend-only visits with non-toxic gels and Integrated Pest Management (IPM) protocols, plus a parent-friendly safety dossier on request. The same KHDA/ADEK-aligned, weekend-only programme covers nurseries, kindergartens, daycares and after-school centres.

FAQs

Frequently asked questions

The questions schools & nurseries operators ask before signing a service contract.

Will treatment happen while children are on the premises?
Never. In line with KHDA and ADEK expectations, we schedule all treatment for Fridays and Saturdays or outside operating hours, so no child is present during application and there is no spray in classrooms or play areas during the day. We complete an air-quality clearance before the site reopens, so the nursery or school is safe for children and staff when they return on the next working day.
What can we tell parents about the products used around their children?
Full transparency is part of our school programme. We disclose every active ingredient applied and can provide a parent-friendly safety dossier on request, so administrators can answer parent queries with confidence. We favour non-toxic gels, dusts and Integrated Pest Management — monitoring and exclusion first — over broad spraying, which keeps chemical exposure in children's environments to an absolute minimum.
How is a nursery treated differently from a K-12 school?
Nurseries need the most conservative approach because infants and toddlers crawl and put things in their mouths, so we rely almost entirely on sealed bait points placed out of reach, sticky monitors and source reduction rather than any residual spray. Larger K-12 schools add canteen and kitchen HACCP service, science-lab and storeroom checks, and external grounds treatment. Both follow the same weekend-only, disclosure-first protocol.
How often should a school be serviced through the year?
We recommend monthly service during the academic year, when food in canteens, lockers and classrooms keeps pest pressure high, scaling back to quarterly over the summer break when the campus is largely empty. Sticky monitor stations stay in place year-round for trend reporting, and we offer an annual training session for school admin and facilities staff on prevention and early sighting reporting.
